It's pretty damned good by can be quite easily fooled in some situations, especially low-light shooting with point light sources (a common issue with low cell count matrix meters) the F5's meter is much better in those situations as it's less susceptible to point sources.

The F100's meter is not infallible, or even close. Neither are quite as good as an LX or some of the OM's for this. I will get one when I find one.and then sell it.įor night shooting the FE2 and F3 have the best meter of the Nikons, both will meter out to 120 seconds in A mode (an undocumented feature). even though it's heavy as a brick, but that's only at the beginning, I don't notice it anymore :-P I would like and F6 but it's too expensive. The EM has the best meter for night shooting "The F6 is the greatest 35mm camera ever, but its still too rich for my blood to buy for myself at this point in time." Use a credit card. And all my stuff comes out well exposed, unless I screwed with something on purpose to get a desired effect. I always have some trickery to get a thicker negative, but i do that, and then just let the meter do its work, its that damn good. I also have some decent time behind an F100, and 4-5 rolls behind an F6. I've shot an N90 for well over a decade, and my father the decade before that. The meter in the F100, F6 and even the N90 is ABSOLUTELY INFALLIBLE. If you can get an F6 for less than a grand, its a good deal.

I'm on the lookout for the F100, the second best 35mm. The F6 is the greatest 35mm camera ever, but its still too rich for my blood to buy for myself at this point in time. Id' pass and get an F5 or even better an F4. PS: Ken Rockwell's F6 review rocks! Thanks, Larry. Sometimes you have to work at night to dig up treasure. Larry, are you working the graveyard shift again?
NIKON F6 WEIGHT PRO
Oh, it's only one of the most iconic pro film bodies ever made. It is amazing what having a job cost these days. Oh, that always happens to me! Can't you pay for it with awesome photos?įunny thing is I found I have more money without a job than I did when I had one. Lol, from all of your posts, guys I think I'm buying it!!! Now the problem is the money. LOL Well Frank maybe some day your Konicas will get past the point of repair and you will need a Nikon. I am still looking for an F4 or F5 in my price range. The only feature it lacks is removable finders. It also supports Nikon's high-capacity EN-EL4a LiIon batteries in the grip. It's pretty much an F100 with the F5 finder, a little more speed, better AF and support for Nikon's i-TTL flash system including CLS (It's the only film camera to support i-TTL and it's incredible wireless capabilities). Not especially loud, but far louder than a traditional wind, of course and no, it cannot be turned off-there is no advance lever (but you can choose to rewind manually).Īrguably the best AF SLR ever made, A little big & heavy, especially with the grip and it needs the grip to take AA's. Saud Mubarak : i really hate that, i love the shutter that the FM3a has, and is the motor loud? or can i turn it off? My only complaint is a really light shutter actuation I tend to blow a few frames whenever I switch cameras until I remember how light it is.
